Before guiding clients through contracts and closings, I spent years in high-stress environments where quick thinking and human connection weren’t optional.
My career as a REALTOR® didn’t begin with sales—it began with investing. I bought homes, lived in them while renovating, and then sold them. Real estate was something I was already doing for myself, so eventually it felt natural to do it for others—especially once it became clear that my job in public safety was no longer sustainable long-term.
I’ve always been interested in law and politics. I went to college to study pre-law and political science, and while I didn’t love the academic path itself, I truly enjoyed working with people. That led me to a career as a 911 dispatcher. For nine years, I worked 12-hour shifts listening carefully, thinking on my feet, de-escalating high-stress situations, and directing resources where they were needed most. It was incredible training—learning how to stay calm under pressure and guide people through moments of crisis—but it was also emotionally exhausting. Death, accidents, medical emergencies, and stress were constant. Eventually, I knew I needed something different.
I transferred to the city jail, where I was responsible for booking individuals into the facility—fingerprinting them, processing paperwork, and handling intake procedures. Believe it or not, I found it fun. Every day was different, and once again, I had to think quickly and stay sharp. It was there that I met my husband, Daniel. He was an officer who came in for work. We started as coworkers, then friends, and over time, something more.

Later, I was promoted to the detective bureau. I delivered subpoenas, scheduled school crossing guards, and transported evidence to crime labs. It was interesting work, but also unsettling. I wasn’t in uniform, yet I was sent to deliver subpoenas to people who didn’t want to receive them—sometimes dangerous individuals. I was constantly on edge, and I knew I didn’t want to keep doing it long-term.
I went back to college to finish my finance degree, preparing for a change of careers. During that time, I completed an internship at a bank, where I spent my days in a cubicle crunching numbers. That experience made it clear the corporate environment wasn’t the right fit for me.
So, what was next? I didn’t want a corporate job, and I didn’t want to stay in public safety. But I already had experience investing in real estate and making a profit. Why not do it full-time?
I got my real estate license in 2018, and the transition was challenging. I was used to a rigid, almost military schedule—if you were late, you lost your job. Suddenly, there were no rules. Real estate was fully commission-based, and I was completely responsible for my own time and success. It took some adjustment, but thankfully, it worked out.
Today, Daniel and I have been together for 21 years and married for 10 years. I’m a stepmother and also a grandmother (Mimi) to Vinny and Vanessa. I’m also ridiculously devoted to my dogs, Stoli (like the vodka) and Tito, who are very much like my children. We spend time at our lake house, which feels like our shared little piece of heaven.

Looking back, I credit my years in public safety for shaping who I am. Those high-stress situations taught me what truly matters. Life can change in an instant—I’ve seen it happen—and because of that, I believe deeply in doing what you love while you can.
With eight years of experience, I take great pride in truly caring for my clients and delivering a highly personalized experience. I understand that every client has a unique style, taste, and set of priorities, and I make it a point to listen carefully and respect those preferences. My role is to find homes that align with what clients love—not what I like—because the process is all about them. I manage each transaction from start to finish without handing clients off to another agent, so they can feel confident knowing I’m personally handling every detail.
Communication is a top priority; I provide constant updates and never leave clients wondering what’s happening next. I guide clients toward properties that truly suit their needs, keeping the experience exciting while also calm and reassuring. I never force a sale—my goal is for clients to feel genuinely elated when they move in. I’m skilled at staying calm under pressure, and above all, I aim to build genuine, lasting relationships with my clients.
Sincerely,

Michelle Bennett-Siwula
